Taken 2 review

Posted : 11 years, 5 months ago on 30 October 2012 08:48 (A review of Taken 2)

there was just one scene that made me squirm in my seat, but aside from that, Taken 2 does nothing else to surpass the original. the movie kind of reminded me of the breakfast club, because all the action took place in just one day. also, i don't think that it was a good idea to use the same plot from the original because it lost the excitement that the first was all about. instead of wondering, "what will Bryan do?", the audience immediately knows that he has something up his sleeve that will solve his current dilemma. even though everyone raged about how awesome this is, i still prefer the original.
Taken 2 wasn't what i was hoping for but it does its job of entertaining and engaging well enough for a sequel.

Prometheus review

Posted : 11 years, 6 months ago on 29 October 2012 11:57 (A review of Prometheus)

Despite stunning effects, a solid and capable cast and a huge fan base of the alien movies, Prometheus fell short of being what everyone had hoped it would be, great. Why? Because it failed to answer the questions that the movie itself posed. Instead of making us contemplate whatever idea it was supposed to share, it just confused us and left us hanging. In my opinion, the movie felt like it was just the backstory of the actual movie. A good, unfinished story.

As Told by Ginger review

Posted : 11 years, 6 months ago on 26 October 2012 06:54 (A review of As Told by Ginger)

one of the cartoons that accompanied me through puberty. I really enjoyed this show as a preteen. it was everything a clueless and eager little girl wanted to know. it was funny, honest and dramatic. just a slight exaggeration of what a teenage girl's life probably is. the show tackled several important issues properly, and at times, accurately, without going beyond what was appropriate for its viewers. for example, there were several episodes that dealt with cheating, in school and in relationships, and they fully showed the consequences of such actions without sugar coating them.
the characters were typical, but endearing in their own ways. the art could have been much better though.
